Hey you,
A few weeks ago, I got a DM.
|
 |
|
First off, I am not going anywhere!
At the time, I hadn’t tuned into what Amy or Jenna had said at this point - but, it became *THE TALK* amongst the online community. On just why they were pivoting. And fellow entrepreneurs were quick to assume…
“OnLiNE cOuRsES aRe DeAD"
I couldn't agree more with what these folks had to say: |
 |
|
Exactlyyy.
So what conclusions can we actually draw from Amy & Jenna's announcements? ↓ |
|
|
 |
Here are my thoughts on their changes and what it means about this version of the online space:
|
 |
Let’s start with Amy…
I would assume, she isn't making this change because her business is taking a sudden nosedive. (Raise your hand if you'd take her multi-million dollar months off her hands 🙋♀️).
She describes a moment where she knew with certainty that the September 2025 launch of Digital Course Academy would be her last.
She had something great (still does) that she’s owned since 2019. Heck, even well before that with courses on funnels and email marketing, etc. But, she felt called to something else. And, she released the grasp of what “worked” for something new.
What’s Amy doing next?
Amy is pivoting to coaching (welcome to the club!!) She is specifically targeting online entrepreneurs with a marketing/scaling coaching program. This isn’t a course, it’s a pathway through the “maze” as she called it.
Sounds like a signature group program to me 👀
*cue me biting my tongue, trying not to say, "SEE TOLD YA THIS IS THE MOVE" lol

Now let's talk Jenna...
Jenna wrote a blog stating after 968 episodes (nearly a decade), she is pausing her 7-figure podcast.
Why? Though she was great at it, it wasn’t her primary “fire” as she put it.
She goes on to mention that her being able to turn off a 7-figure revenue stream while her business continues to thrive is the "ultimate proof" that the systems she teaches actually work.
What’s next for Jenna?
She is shifting back to her roots - writing. She wants to communicate through her email list and blog without the "production schedule" of a podcast. And because of that - she’s committing to "no ghostwriters." Every word will be her voice. She wants to create from “overflow rather than obligation.” LOVE THAT.
Also loving her Substack lately, here's what she has to say about the discourse around her announcement.

My thoughts on Amy and Jenna’s Pivots
So no, courses are far from “dead.” What we’re seeing right now with Amy & Jenna is an evolution.
In my opinion, inspired by the ‘DIY Era’ officially being replaced by a ‘Strategy Led Era’.
In 2026, people aren't looking for another login to a portal full of lessons they’ll never finish. They are looking for Strategic Proximity. They want an expert guide who has already navigated the journey to their desired end result and can give them the straightest path to the result - along-side them.

|
|
What does this tell us?
Your brand must be built to transcend your assets. Whether you have a podcast or you don't, whether you sell a course or a mastermind - your positioning's goal is to hold the weight regardless of the "container" you’re using today.
This gives you the freedom to pivot later if the market shifts expectations & desires again 😉
